MENS TENNIS SEMI FINALS
NOVAC DJOCKOVIC V
STAN WAWRINKA
The first set went to a tie break and Wawrinka showed that
he is not going away. Djockovic the broke in the first point of the tie break at
the early stages lead by 5 points to 0. Djokovic
won the tie break by 7 points to 1. You just wonder where Wawrinka was in the
tie break because he wasn't here.
Wawrinka broke in the
6th game to 30 and at this stage of the match looked very strong. He
held the next game winning 3 in a row to give him a strong advantage in this
the second set. Wawrenka held to love to win the second set and it was
Djokovics first set dropped in the competition. Wavwenka looked ready at this
point.
Djokovic broke in the second game of the third set but he
was running about everywhere and anywhere by Wawrenka in this game and you did
not see it coming. Wavwenka broke back in the fifth but was given
a lifeline in the game previous. Djokovic then broke in the 10th
game of the set to win it by 6 games to 4.
Djokovic broke in the second game of the fourth set. Wavwenka
broke straight back with a quality game. Stan Wawrenka came back from 40 love
to score 5 points in a row to save serve. Wavwenka then broke in the 7th
game to love. I felt if he had lost this it could be game over. Wavwenka then
held the next problem and seemed to be in control. Wavwenka went on to win the
set with a quality shot at the end to win 6-4.
There seemed to be a new Djokovic in the final set as he
took complete control to win it by 6 games to 0. But there did seem to be something
slightly wrong as he did not seem as reactive to big points as he had been
during the tournament maybe this is something he is learning.
