Scotsman Andy Murray looks a lot better than he did on Monday as he broke in the 8th game of the first set. German Bachinger was giving away some easy points to Andy Murray which gave him the confidence to go on. Murray hit a sweet return shot to give him 2 set points to win the set which he took with a quality shot. Murray then broke in the first game of the second set to give him comfort.  Bachinger stole a game of Andy Murray as Murray was 30 love up and Bachinger hit 4 shots in a row to win it.  Andy Murray managed to win the second set and at this stage he looked a lot better than the first round. Andy Murray gave away 3 break points at 4-3. Andy Murray then had a brilliant game to win the match as it brought the tie from 4-4 to 6-4 winning all four points. .  Bachinger did deserve a set in this match but Andy showed how clinical he is.

Novac Djockovic took an early break in the first set to lead by 4-1against Mathieu and after doing that taking another break to lead 5-1and as he took the set it looked like he could not lose this match. Djockovic did take a break in the 6th game but this set was definitely a lot tighter. Djockovic did take the second but must have felt Mathieu getting better. The third seemed to be Djockovic at his best as he took 2 breaks of serve to lead 4-0 and took the fifth to love and this form looks like there might be a champion here. Djockovic looked very impressive in that final shot to win 6-0

American John Isner won in straight sets against Struff of Germany. Frenchman Jo Wilfred Tsonga also got a straight sets win against Nedovyesov. American Sam Query beat Spaniard Garcia Lopez the seed in straight sets

Serena Williams showed why she is the best in the world after beating Viana King by 6 games to 1. Serena showed her class in the second set to win 6-0 but the conditions were very windy.

Euginie Bouchard took an early break against Cirstea in her second round match. In the final game of the set it did seem that Cirstea had given up a little bit as it seemed like she let Bouchard win it to make the score 6-2. . The second set was much closer as at 4-4 it seemed like Bouchard was in a battle. Bouchard then lost control of the match as she lost a break and Cistea was serving for the set. Bouchard did break back and force a tie break. Cistea wins the tie break by 7 points to 4.Bouchard got an early break in the third set to make it 3-1. Cistrea broke straight back to make the score 3-3. Bouchard then broke again to give herself a chance to win this match but the way they are breaking you can’t be certain. DIMITROV SHOWS WHAT HE CAN DO

Dimitrov broke in the 4th game to make the score 3-1. Dimitrov then broke again in the final game of the set to make the score 6-2 and the score looked harder on Harrison. Harrison then broke Dimitrov in the 5th game. Dimitrov then broke back in the tenth game. The match went to a tie break. Dimitrov showed his class in winning the tie break but the game was level until Dimitrov got 2 quick breaks at the end of the tie break to win it 7-4.  Dimatrov broke early in the third to gain control of the set. And after a break in the 5th it looked like Harrison had no hope. Dimitrov did not waste time getting over the line.

WAWRENKA SHOULD HAVE LOST
Wawrenka broke in the 7th game to get the first set in a very tight match to start with. Wawrenka broke early in the second set winning the first game which gave him a lot of confidence. Wawrenka showed his class to win the set 6-4 but this match could have easily been 1-1 in sets. Beleuev got the chance to win his first break point in the third set to lead 2-1 and broke again to be in a sence of dreamland but Wawrenka did get one break back to bring it to 5-3but he did get the set in the end. The 4th set went to a tie break and did not look like the player that he was as he lost by 7 points to 1.
BERDICH CAN GO FAR IN THIS US OPEN

Berdich from the Czech Republic beat Leyton Hewit from Australia 3-0 and Kavic beat Chardy from France 3-0 to reach the fourth round

WOMENS

SHARAPOVA SHOWS WHY SHE IS TOP OF THE WORLD
Maria Sharapova was in a bit of trouble as Dulgheru broke in the 7th game and then went on to win the set 6-4 hitting a quality shot to win it. Maria Sharapova  won the game winning one of the best points that I have seen in a long time and both her and Dulgheru were incredible to work the angles for.  Sharapova did break in the 8th and left herself with a chance to win the set as she went 5-3 up. Sharapova did show her class in the final game but Dulgheru did not seem there like there was something wrong. Sharapova broke. In the first game of the third to gain control. Sharapova broke a second time to make her have control. Sharapova kept her nerve to get the win 6-2.

VENUS CAN LEARN FROM MISTAKES
Venus Williams showed why she is still a quality player. In the first set against Bassinszly but in the first couple of games of the match it was even before Williams took control of the match winning the next 5 games to win 6-1. In the second it was much closer and the set went to 4-4 before Venus got the break she needed to win by 6 games to 4. Venus is a fans favourite but I am not that sure how far she will go in the tournament.
RADWANSKA IS BEST OF THE REST

Anna Radvanska was knocked out 2-0 by Peng of china. Jankovic from Serbia beat Pironkova 2-0 all matches being in the second round

27-8-14 us open

Roger Federer broke very late against Matosevic to lead 5-3 and showed his class to make the score 6-3. Federer broke in the 7th games of the second set but with some of the amazing shots he hit you would think he could go back to being one of the best in the world incredible shots from Roger. He was able to win the second set by 6 games to 4 and did look like a class act. Federer could have lost a break in the third but got one in the 7th game of the set. Matosevic did break back straight away in the 8th game. The third set went to a tie break Roger Federer showed his class at the end to win the final 3 points and go through to the second round.

Spaniard David Ferrer the number 4 seed won his game in four sets 6-1, 6-2, 2-6 6-2 against Dzumhur from Bulgaria. While John Isner beat fellow American Giron in straight sets. Richard Gasguet of France beat Istomin from Uzbekistan in 3 very close sets

Serena Williams played Taylor Townsend in this all USA clash. Serena broke early to make the score 2-1 It did seem like there were things wrong with Townsend in the final game as Serena took it against the serve to take the first set. Serena broke very early to lead the second set 2-0. Serena showed why she was a champion after winning another break and leading 5-1. Townsend had a glorious chance to save herself but missed the shot completely and with match point Serena excited.

In the first round Sorana Cirstea from Romania played Brit Heather Watson. Watson got herself off to a good start winning her first service game. In the 6th Watson gave Cirstea a good go but this was not the best of sets for her losing 6-1. Heather Watson showed her class in the second set by breaking back to make the score 1-1 but that seemed to be all it was. As Cirstea broke back a game later. Which gave her the chance to take control of the match and not lose another game.

Sam Stouser beat American Davis in 2 sets Petra Kitova beat Mledenovic from France as cantered her way to the second round. Elena Bouchard from Canada beat Govertsova from Bulgaria. The shock of the tournament and something I feel I have to mention is 15 year old Bellis from the USA beating Ciblkova from Slovakia no 12 seed in 3 sets.

MALE

Andy Murray played Tony Hasse in this first round tie of the US open. In the first time Hasse took a bit of time to get used to the game as Andy Murray lead by 4 games to Love but if he did not get the start of the match he could have won this set as Murray won it by 6 games to 3. In the second set Murray was 3-1 down and did not look like he had the form but Murray did force to a tie break. Murray was down in the tie break but brought it back to 6-6 and then got the mini break to win the second set 8-6.
Murray was not himself in the third as he got an early game but Hasse got 5 games in a row to win the set and it looked like we were watching an injured Murray. In the final set Hass was 2-0, 4-2 and 5-3 up and it did not look good. Andy did win the next 4 games to ensure a spot in the second round winning 7-5 and Andy does not look right for the tournament.

Novac Djockovic showed his class in the first set winning 6-1 but losing a game on his own serve. It did look like Schwartman was getting better and better during the match as the second set was won 6-2 but Schwatman could have won the third going down by 6 games to 4. Djockovic looks ready for this US open and we will see how far he goes.
