Tommy Robredo from Spain beat B Coric from Croatia 7-5, 3-6, 6-2, 6-4, 6-4
It took Robredo some time to get into this match but when he did he looked ok. There will be a lot more difficult challenges than this in the French open for him

A straight sets win at this stage and it can only help you

Keys is one of the best players coming through the American female system and does look to be improving a lot
You can rarely say too much about who are going to be the runners and riders in early rounds but you can look at players for confidence and that is what I am trying to do here

Gail Simon biggest test is not right now it will come at the later stages when the pressure becomes more and more at a home tournament

Stan Wavwina from Switzerland beat D Lajovic 6-3, 6-4, 5-7, 3-6
Wavwenka looks very good at this stage of the tournament and you feel that he can get into goo form again but are not sure how or when a win is a win at this stage but you would like as little stress as possible

Benjamin Becker from Germany beat Fernando Verdasco from Spain 6-4, 0-6, 1-6, 7-5 10-8
One of the great matches of French open tennis and I think that the difficulties in this match will harm Becker in the later stages of this competition

Lisiki found it too easy and you definitely cannot say too much from a first round tie like

From this type of player very little can be learned from the first round. But this does look like his time as Nadal is out of form

Rafa Nadal from Spain beat Q hayls from France 6-3, 6-3, 6-4
Is he awesome or is he out of form and if he is what is going to happen to the French open if Nodal cannot make a run as he is not on hot form but an easy first round wind

Serena has the chance to become a legend if she picks up the wins she needs to be top of the female leaderboard and in this day and age it is much harder

Petra Kitova from the Czech Republic beat M Erakovic 6-4, 3-6, 6-4
Kitova looks off form at this early stage

Caroline Wosniki from Denmark beat K Knapp 6-3 6-0
Wosniki looks on hot form and able to beat anyone at this point
Eugenie Bouchard from Canada beat Kmladenovic from France 6-4, 6-4

Bouchard is one of the female tennis players that I would like to win the majors as she is someone that I think can do very well

Madison Keys from the USA beat V Lpchenko also from the USA 7-6, 6-3
Keys seemed to get better and better during this match. She seemed to be improving during the match. If she can do this during the tournament she might be one to watch out for
