Swiss star Stan Wavwenka needed 5 sets to beat  Rossol from the Czech Republic Wavwenka was 2-1 down in the first set before he showed his form in the final 2 neither set was easy to win

Kei Nishikori found it easy against Boleli in the first and third sets

Giles Simon from France found it difficult to get into a rhythm against Dutra Silva from Brazil after winning the first in a tie break after winning the second 6-4 he began to cruise in the third set winning 6-2

Gasguet also from France beat Belucci 6-1 but Belucci in the second was more competitive second and third

Frenchman Jeremy Chardy need four sets to defeat Argentine Mayer after having a poor second set finding things very easy in the 4th set and being able to cruise to a simple win

Mannarino from France needed 4 sets to beat Kukushin from Kazakhstan

Thomson from Australia won in straight sets against Dhere from Serbia

Ramos Vinolas from Spain beat Zeballos in 4 sets
