13-7-15 mens final

DJOKOVIC PROVES YOUTH BEATS EXPERIENCE

Serb Novak Djokovic beat Swiss Player Roger Federer 7-6, 6-7, 6-4, 6-4 to secure that he won his third Wimbledon title. Federer did have a break in the first set but Djokovic did have the skill to break back and if Federer got that set anything could have happened. The first 2 sets were epics up until the tie breaks as Djokovic's he won easily while the set that Federer won he had to win by 10 points to 8. In the third and fourth sets Djokovic was able to break in the third but Federer did have a few chances to break back in the fourth set.
You do wonder whether Federer will be able to get that 8th Wimbledon title.

Djokovic now goes level with Boris Becker on number of Wimbledon wins.

WIMBLEDON 12-7-15 WOMEN'S FINAL

SERENA HOLDS ALL FOUR MAJORS

SERENA BREAKS PERFECTLY

Us Tennis star Serena Williams won 6-4, 6-4 against Spaniard G Muguruza yesterday but this match was lost on the 7th game  of the first set as G Muguruza had a break at this stage as she lead by 4 games to 3 and |Serena was definitely not playing that well. It wasn't until she broke that we started to see Serena's a game and she never looked back from this point. Serena broke early in the second set.  Muguruza had a couple of chances at the end of the match to break back and go 5-5 but Serena took control from 40-15 down to win the match.

Serena is now 1 grand slam off Steffi Graf and 2 off Margaret Courts all time record of grand slam victories and this win. This will not go down as her greatest win but the win itself was very important as she has the aim of winning all 4 majors in a year also.

11-7-15 WIMBLENON

MEN'S SEMI FINALS

2 semi-finals very close but at the same time both games were won by 3 sets to 0

The first match between Serb Novac Djokovic and Frenchman Richard Gasguet where all 12 games were on serve before the set went into the tie break where Djokovic won it by 7 points to 2 and this seemed to give him the confidence to win the second and the third set each by a break winning by 6 games to 4. Djokovic looked incredible in this match.

But if you compare this to Swiss tennis player Roger Federer who never dropped serve and was able to break Brit Andy Murray at the right time winning the first and second set by 7 games to 5. In the third the break came earlier as Federer broke to win by 6 games to 4 but Andy Murray did show his quality in this match and a 3-0 loss was slightly unfair on him.

WIMBLEDON 10-7-15 WOMEN'S SEMIS

WOMEN'S SEMIS

American Serena Williams cruised to victory in the first set and we wondered where Russian Maria Sharapova was as she did not play that well in the first set. Serena could have 3 breaks of serve but only got 2. The second set was definitely a lot closer as she only needed one break of serve to win. Serena looks on course for the Serena slam winning all 4 titles at one time.

In the first match of the day it was a lot closer a Spaniard G Muguruza won the first set by 6 games to 2.Pole Anna Radwanska showed that she was not giving up on this match as she won the second set by 6 games to 3.  Muguruza then showed that she could handle the pressure of her first semi-final of the day as she looked to be very calm in the third set as she won by 6 games to 3 she is definitely one to look out for in the future.

9-7-15 WIMBLEDON MEN'S QUARTERS

MENS QUARTER FINALS

Serb Novak Djokovic beat Croatian Marian Cilic 6-4, 6-4, 6-4 and looks on fire in this tournament as he did not drop a set it seemed like the match he played yesterday helped him rather than harming him. The fact that he broke in every set will give him a lot of confidence going into the semi-finals.
Brit Andy Murray looked Ok as he beat V Pospisil from Canada with the fans behind them he was able to win 6-4, 7-5, 6-4 he looks like he will be someone difficult to beat in the semi-final but at the same time did not look in control.

Swiss player Roger Federer also won in straight sets against Frenchman Giles Simon Federer won the match 6-3, 7-5, 6-2 and does on a bit of form and looks like he could catch Pete Sampras’s record of winning 8 Wimbledon titles.

In an epic match to finish off the day Frenchman Richard Gasquet played Stan Wawrinka from Switzerland. As Gasquet won the first set 6-4 he did not expect Wawrinka to come back and win the second by the same score. Wawrinka won the third set by 6 games to 3 before Gasquet won the fourth by 6 games to 4 the fifth set was an epic as it could not be settled after the 10 games and in a final set you must win by 2 clear Games on against the serve it took until the 20th game for someone to break and it was Gasquet who went into the semi-final.

2-7-15 WIMBLEDON RESULTS

MENS

NOVAK DJOKOVIC (Serbia) BEAT J NIEMINEN (Finland) 6-4, 6-2, 6-3
NOVAK SIMPLIFIES IT

Novak Djokovic showed off his class in the second round match as he found it very easy in passing his Finnish opponent. He showed he had that bit of class in beating him in straight sets. Djokovic showed that he always is one to watch out for.

MARION CILIC (Croatia) BEAT BERANKIS (Lithuania) 6-3, 4-6, 7-6, 4-6, 7-5
CILIC FINDS IT TOUGH

Marion Cilic has had the right type of match in his second round match with a difficult 5 set match. There are problems with his game as he will go forward in this tournament as he is aiming to go deeper as he was not able to get true control of this match and down the line I feel he will find it tough.

MILOS RAONIC (Canada) BEAT T HAAS (Germany) 6-0, 6-2, 6-7, 7-6
FROM HORROR TO HELL

The problem with Ramos in this match is the fact that as the match went on he got progressively worse rather than better and allowed his opponent into the game. He might have a few niggles to sort out but when they are sorted he could be one to watch out for.
STAN WAWRINKA (Switzerland) BEAT ESTELLA BURGOS (Dominican Republic) 6-3, 6-4, 7-5
SWISS DREAMS

Stan Wawrinka found it quite difficult to get by his opponent as each set was quite close and as he was on top form his opponent did to. There is excitement in the win but as well as that there is disappointment in the fact the sets were close. To be champion he must improve

GRIGOR DIMITROV (Bulgaria) BEAT S JOHNSON (USA)  7-6, 6-2, 7-6
DIMITROV UP AND DOWN IN FORM
Dimitrov is showing definite improvement in hope to go as far as he can in this competition. 2 13 game sets are not good for him but the fact that he won in straight sets can help as he is able to see where he stands. I cannot see him go too much further
WOMEN'S

SERENA WILLIAMS (USA) BEAT T BABOS (Hungary) 6-4, 6-1
SERENA SHOWS AGE MEANS NOTHING

Serena eased through to the third round but had a few problems dispatching Babos in the first set. We got the chance to see that she is the best female in the tournament in the second.

HEATHER WATSON (GB) BEAT D HANTUCHOVA (Slovakia) 6-4, 6-2
WATSON GOES BEYOND DREAMS

Heather Watson has now equalled the record of a British female at Wimbledon for the last 20 years after winning quite easily in this 2 set match. In the first set we got the chance to see that she can do well in a close one and in the second we saw that she was able to control a set.

MARIA SHARAPOVA (Russia) BEAT R HOGENKAMP (Netherlands) 6-3, 6-1
SHARAPOVA SHOWS CLASS

Maria Sharapova showed that things can be very easy for her in this second round match as she beat Hogenkap. She was able to take control of both sets in winning them 6-3 and 6-1 but she was playing inferior opposition and when she plays a player who is up to her level on grass we have got to see what it is like.
VENUS WILLIAMS (USA) BEAT PUTINTSEVA (Kazakhstan)  7-6, 6-4
VENUS SHOWS AGE MEANS LITTLE

Ve3nus found it tricky to win her second round tie and would be one I would definitely want to do well for the traditions of this tournament. She showed that she was ready for a match after winning 2 very close sets and she is ready for the next match.

MADISON KEYS (USA) BEAT S VOEGELE (Switzerland)  6-7, 6-3, 6-4
KEYS FINDS THINGS VERY TOUGH
Madison Keys has shown that she can get out to a tight spot in this second round match. Another problem with this is that she never did get control of this match but Madison did improve game by game and is part of the new generation which I want to come through.
