MEN'S TENNIS MEN'S QUARTERS
TSONGA GIVES HOPE TO
THE FRENCH
Joe Wilfred Tsonga from France beat Kei Nishikori from Japan
6-1, 6-4, 4-6,3-6, 6-3
This was a match not defined by the tennis the match was defined
by one moment. This happened as the game was being played as the score was 1-0
in sets and 5-2 in games an advertising board collapsed and it seemed like
before that there was no Kei Nishikori and after that there was as it looked
like he was a completely different player but when he caught Tsonga he went
straight back into his shell. The French public will be happy as one of their
own will have been in a semi-final. Tsonga looks to be ready for anyone
WAVWENKA ACHIEVES DREAM OF BEATING FEDERRER
Stan Wavwena beat Roger Federer both been are from Switzerland
6-4, 6-3, 7-6
Stan Wavwenka beat his fellow Swiss opponent for the first
time yesterday but the strange thing here was that he won the match in straight
sets. Wavwenka never seemed to lose control of this match at any stage and this
seemed like the kid giving the master a lesson.
WOMEN'S TENNIS QUARTERS
IVANOVIC CRUISES
INTO SEMIS
Anna Ivanovic from Serbia beat Elina Svitlina from the Ukraine
6-3, 6-2
Anna Ivanovic looks to be playing very well as she beat a
player that few of us have heard of until this point. She won the game quite comfortably
but it is difficult to understand whether or not she can learn as this was an
unseeded player she beat.
SAPAROVA FINDS IT COMFORTABLE TO REACH SEMIS
Lucie Safarova from Chech Republiv beat G Muguruza Blanco
from Spain 7-6, 6-3
Again straight sets win and again a player that we have not
heard of you cannot be sure what a win like that will mean when she plays
against an improving player. The game was tight which will help her in the semi-final
as she will have had a hard match behind her.
